Planning Your Wedding in the Canadian Rocky Mountains?

We warmly welcome you to plan your wedding with us

at Ralph Connor in Canmore where we

have been welcoming the Canmore community to our ministry since 1890.

Many couples choose to be married in our historic church. Our sanctuary seats 100 people and is known for it’s acoustics and historic charm.

Wedding guidelines:

We request that couples contact us well in advance of their wedding date. We strongly advise couples to attend a marriage preparation

course in the community where they reside. Where blended families or remarriage is involved it might be advisable to pursue further premarital counseling, or to consult with our minister, Rev. Ron Jeffrey.

Insofar as the wedding is taking place in a congregation of the United Church of Canada, we would anticipate that one or both of those seeking marriage would be baptized, and be comfortable with a United Church minister and a Christian wedding service.

Costs:

We invite the couple to support the ongoing work of our church through a gift of $1,000 for a Church wedding.

This cost includes an honorarium for the Minister, the Music Director and the Wedding Host.

Ordinarily the couple will have a wedding rehearsal the evening before or the day of their wedding. This will be attended by our Minister, Music Director and Host, where applicable.

Couples are free to engage other musicians for their ceremony. The following link provides resources for all your professional needs in Canmore you may require for your wedding, like local musicians, accommodation, photographers, florists, etc.

Our Wedding Host will help coordinate preparation details and be a resource for you on your wedding day. The minister will be available to work on the details of your ceremony. We advise you make an appointment through our office very early on to have the conversations needed for this special day.

The minister is available to help couples with weddings in parks or natural settings around Canmore. In the case of outdoor weddings, the couple may wish to reserve the church for use in case of inclement weather. We ask for a non refundable deposit of $200 to hold our sanctuary, with $500 payable should the church be used.

Use of our Church Sanctuary: $900

On occasion we receive requests to use our church for wedding ceremonies with other priests or ministers presiding. In those cases we are glad to provide our church at a rental cost of $900 and our wedding host will be present to offer assistance to the guest minister and the couple.

We request a $200 non-refundable deposit for all bookings.
